International Puppet Theatre Festival for Adults “PIERROT” was created in 2000 under the initiative of Non-profit organization “PIERROT.

The festival is a new, unconventional European stage of puppet theatre art, dedicated to new and untypical forms: puppet theatre for adults.

The festival is biannual and it’s conducted from 24 till 29 September under the patronage of the District Governor of District Stara Zagora. Organizers of the festival are State Puppet Theatre – Stara Zagora, Municipality of Stara Zagora, Non-profit organization “PIERROT”, National Center for theatre, Ministry of culture, Bulgarian Center of UNIMA.

International Puppet Theatre Festival for Adults “PIERROT” organizes as additional events theoretical seminars, workshops, art market, exhibitions, street art.
